About

This is a companion site of the YouCanPlayBetter YouTube channel. It's a one person show since I do everything by myself: all instruments, all recordings, mixing, video arranging etc. It's the cheapest and most fun side project along my day job. I'm just an amateur musician that has a passion for playing various instruments.

My beliefs

1. Music creation is for everyone and not only for professionals.

2. Creating music is fun and rewarding.

3. Reproducing the music you like is an excellent learning tool. Probably the best tool.

4. You can much better appreciate the artist's original work by seeing how hard it is to reproduce it.

My evolving skills

The recordings and guidance reflect my evolving knowledge and skills. My primary goal is self improvement. I know my vocals suck, my drumming is uneven, my guitar lacks groove and so on. I know because I'm embarrassed whenever I'm watching the recordings. Yet they push me to improve by making the problem areas painfully obvious and feeling less irritated when watching the recordings. My skills did improve although there's a long way to go - no problem, as long as it's fun.
