This was my first "live" recorded performance. My vocals coach recommended me to sing along with an instrument as a way to improve my pitch.

Vocals

I've been working in class on "Hurt" for a few lessons throughout several weeks and it was reasonably well-rehearsed. Yet I still didn't know the words and chords by heart hence the need to keep staring into the tablet.

Acoustic guitar

My Acoustasonic was ideal given that it has an easy to play neck and has a rich synthetic sound.

Audio recording and mixing

I recorded both vocals and the guitar onto separate tracks. There was only a minimal bleed from the guitar into the microphone track. I used wired in-ear monitors to better perceive the loudness and the nuances of the performance.

Mixing was different since I could not comp with the other take due to timing differences. I ended up using the second and final take.

Video

I recorded one 4K stream and this gave me more options to crop it during editing. The final video was rendered at 1080p so there was no quality loss.
